这片土地上曾有个国家叫作彼海姆，而彼海姆的龙学院是研究、教授魔法的学府。他们认为魔法源自龙，于是以龙为尊，将龙的形象刻在戒指上，颁发给优秀的魔法师。
时间又过去了很久，此地诞生了两个新的国家——雅肯与韦因。虽然彼海姆已不复存在，但魔法的使用却流传了下来，而且有所发展，出现了名为“人偶”，亦或叫“傀儡”的法术。
韦因的王与雅肯的王妃在他们还是王子与公主之时便已经相爱，但在种种原因的阻挠之下两人最终天各一方，有了自己的婚姻与责任。
婚姻与距离隔不断情侣的爱恋。王子在韦因建造了太阳钟楼，公主在雅肯建造了月亮钟楼，他们各自使用名为“人偶”的法术制造了可爱的小矮人——钟卫，来保护钟楼，并用法洛斯的机关隐藏了钟楼的入口。每当一地的钟楼响起钟声，另一地的钟楼也会随之响起，先是呼唤，后是回应，二人以此来表达心中仍存的秘密之爱。
